Yesterday, the Solicitor General Hon. Shadrack Mose had the honour of representing the Honourable Attorney General, who chairs the Power of Mercy Advisory Committee, at the launch of the Committee’s strategic plan for the years 2024 to 2028. The Committee’s primary responsibility is to advise His Excellency the President of the Republic of Kenya Dr William Ruto on the exercise of the Power of Mercy, which encompasses granting pardons to convicts, postponing executions, substituting punishments with less severe ones and remitting all or part of a sentence. The event took place at the Kenya School of Government (KSG) in Lower Kabete. The esteemed Head of Public Service Hon Felix Kosgei was the Chief Guest. Additionally, Deputy Inspector General Gilbert Masengeli and Commissioner General of Prisons Patrick Mwiti were present.
