Call for Submissions
The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission [the “Commission”] wishes to bring to the attention of all public and private entities, public officers and the public to whom the Bribery Act, 2016 [the “Act”] applies of the following requirements under the Act.
1. Section 9(1) requires private and public entities to whom the Act applies to put in place procedures appropriate to their size and the scale and to the nature of their operations, for the prevention of bribery and corruption;
2. Section 12(1) provides that the Cabinet Secretary shall, in consultation with the Commission, publish guidelines to
assist private and public entities in the preparation of procedures for prevention of bribery and corruption;
3. Section 22(1) provides that the Cabinet Secretary may, on the recommendation of the Commission, make regulations
for the better carrying out of the provisions of the Act.
In this regard, the Commission in consultation with the Attorney General, and with involvement of other stakeholders has developed the Draft Bribery Regulations and the Draft Guidelines to assist Public and Private Entities in the Preparation of Procedures for Prevention of Bribery and Corruption, pursuant to the Act.
